Immortal Narratives - Exhibition Statement

Immortality refers to eternal life and youth. Narrative refers to the imposition of a story structure. We humans are driven by a need to make sense of complex experiences and often address this need by imposing a written or visual chronicle of events. Many of these narratives become ever-lasting as they are perpetually retold through literature, art, music and the spoken word.

Sculptor, Ruben Galdames and mixed-media artist, Denise Tierney share a desire to translate stories of the human condition.  They borrow from personal experience, historic events, ancient mythology and ritual to create visual manifestations of memories, thoughts, desires and fears.
