Fast and Furious

I have been doing some alla prima still life exercises with the intention of:

  • Laying down the paint fairly quickly to avoid over-thinking and

  • Creating form

I plan to take this learning into my figurative work but not with the intention of painting realistic looking images.  I’m looking to paint convincing images that may be loose and/or abstracted.  I figure that if I can create a good ‘bone structure’ I should be able to push the work further while still maintaining a sense of compositional and structural integrity.
