Big Country brings home the bacon

I am thrilled to announce that my painting, Big Country, has been given an Award of Excellence at the 10th Biennial Juried Fine Arts Exhibition in Ladysmith, BC. The exhibition, hosted by the Arts Council of Ladysmith and District, showcases the work of over 80 artists representing a spectrum of mediums and styles. It can be viewed in person (February 2 - 25, 2023) or on line.

In keeping with a long-running exploration of considering our past in the present, I painted a modern man wearing a 25 year old t-shirt. The image on the shirt is of Vancouver Grizzlies basketball player, Bryant Reeves aka. Big Country.
